The Forge in Miami Beach to host kickoff dinner for James Beard Foundation program
Eat food from top Miami chefs and celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito at the Sept. 18 event at the iconic steakhouse and wine bar.
Miami Beach is the first of 10 cities to host one of this year’s Taste America dinners presented by the James Beard Foundation.
The meal, Sept. 18 at The Forge (432 W. 41st St.), features visiting celeb chef Rocco DiSpirito, cooking with the Forge’s Christopher Lee and Pubbelly’s Sergio Navarro. They’re collaborating on a four-course dinner with wine pairings. Before that, Miami chefs Timon Balloo, Brad Kilgore, Cindy Hutson, Giorgio Rapicavoli and Cesar Zapata will feed guests during a pre-dinner cocktail reception.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $250 for general admission and $400 for VIP, which includes seating in the restaurant’s famed wine cellar and an autographed book by chef Norman van Aken. Proceeds will benefit the Foundation, including scholarships for culinary students.
