With more and more visitors coming to Miami every year, the city is home to an impressive list of new hotel openings and renovations. Without further adieu, here’s a list of the Magic City’s hottest new hotels that are scheduled to open soon:
Developed by Swire Hotels and designed by Arquitectonica, EAST, Miami will offer 352 guest rooms and is scheduled to open in late 2015. The hotel is located in the heart of the Brickell City Centre, which is currently under construction and will offer a plethora of high-end retail shops, a movie theater, restaurants and bars, spas and more. The property will include a Uruguayan parrilla restaurant, Quinto La Huella, and a rooftop bar. Other amenities will include ample meeting space, a state-of-the-art fitness center called BEAST (Body by EAST) and a 20,000-square-foot outdoor pool deck. Brickell City Centre’s first phase of development includes a luxury shopping center, two residential towers, EAST, Miami, a wellness center, and a Class A office building. The first phase of completion (including the hotel) is scheduled for the end of 2015 and a second phase of construction will begin in the first quarter of 2016.
The Faena Hotel Miami Beach
The Faena District, a brand new art and cultural hub located between 32nd and 36th Streets on Miami Beach, includes the 169-room Faena Hotel Miami Beach. Designed by film director Baz Luhrmann and his wife Catherine Martin, the hotel is a renovation of the historic Saxony Hotel. The property will include a 3,000-square-foot theater featuring live cabaret shows, a luxury spa and a restaurant helmed by Argentinian chef Francis Mallmann called Los Fuegos. The project, scheduled to open in Nov. 2015, is the brainchild of Alan Faena, an Argentine developer and business partner Len Blavatnik.
Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel
Designed by famed architect Morris Lapidus in the 1950s and scheduled to open in late 2015, Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel is an oceanfront property located in the heart of Miami’s Art Deco District. The 251-room boutique hotel is being renovated with the inclusion of a new restaurant, lobby lounge, extensive events and meeting room space, a pool bar and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The property will feature 29 premium suites and two signature penthouses, complete with ocean views, private garden terrace, dining area and kitchen designed to elicit the comfort of one’s own beach home.
The Hall South Beach
Located in the heart of South Beach’s Art Deco District, The Hall is a new pet-friendly boutique hotel, and the first Florida outpost, by Joie de Vivre Hotels. Designed by Robert McKinley the property exudes a tropical-meets-vintage vibe. Top Chef alum Spike Mendelsohn, is opening a casual eatery called Sunny’s, serving breakfast, beach-inspired dishes and craft beers. Amenities include a swimming pool, a backyard playground of sorts called Campton Yard with games like ping-pong and bocce ball, private beach, as well as on-site bicycle and skateboard rentals.
Located in Downtown and scheduled to open in late 2015, The Langford is a new boutique hotel housed inside the 1925-era Miami National Bank. The first historical hotel in the area, the property will include a rooftop bar and a restaurant called PB Station. A concept from Pubbelly Restaurant Group, the American craft-style eatery will feature classic and Latin cuisine by the James Beard nominated Chef Jose Mendin.
Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc Miami Beach
Chef Nobu, Academy award-winner Robert DeNiro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper are the masterminds behind the much anticipated The Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc Miami Beach. The multi-million dollar vision will revitalize and re-launch the Eden Roc name and property near the end of 2015. The hotel will feature 210 guest rooms, a signature Nobu restaurant and bar, an additional new beach front restaurant concept, spa and two luxurious pools. David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group is leading the design of the project’s interiors ensuring the Morris Lapidus ethos is preserved and the renowned name of the Eden Roc Miami Beach is re-launched in pure style.
SLS Lux Brickell Hotel & Residences
Located in the heart of Miami’s urban Brickell neighborhood, SLS Lux Brickell Hotel & Residences is scheduled to open in 2017. A project led by sbe, The Related Group and The Allen Morris Company, the property will feature 85 all-suite guest rooms designed by Yabu Pushelberg. Amenities will include a 9th floor pool deck, soccer court, haute cuisine by a celebrity chef, on-demand limo service, impressive works of art and an on-staff multi-lingual translator.
