Cochon555 Returns Bigger Than Ever
In Brickell Living
Cochon555, the hyper-local festival with a flair for innovation, returns to Miami with its Heritage BBQ edition on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach. The promotion of global food cultures and family farming will be the central themes of the day. From winemakers and distillers to barkeeps and chefs, dozens of the city’s biggest hospitality talents will be cooking – or creating drinks to match – Old World barbecue recipes cooked over live fires. To further champion the good food movement, a portion of all proceeds will go to Cochon555’s sister charity, Piggy Bank – a pig farming sanctuary.
The BESPOKE Dinner is set to be hosted by Chef Jose Mendin of The Pubbelly Group. Cochon555 Chef’s Course Dinner Series: BESPOKE at Pubbelly Noodle Bar on Saturday, March 25, which kicks off the Cochon555 2017 tour in Miami.
The dinner will feature guest chefs Diego Oka of La Mar by Gaston Acurio at Mandarin Oriental and Michael Beltran of Ariete. The one-of-a-kind, 5-course dinner in support of Piggy Bank charity will take the theme “Culinary Modernity,” with each chef creating one course that embodies their own conception of the night’s core ideas. The final course will be a group collaboration, in which all four chefs will cook one family-style course representative of what they believe to be modernity.
Last year Brickell’s own Chef Diego Oka of La Mar won and took it all the way to the finals in Aspen. Let’s see who has what it takes to go that far this year for the finals being held in Chicago. We are ready to cheer these chefs on and enjoy those pig dishes!
